2010 Lake County Amateur

July 31 & August 1, 2010


The premier amateur golf tournament on the North Shore of Chicago returns for the 39th time to the Lake Bluff Golf Club in Lake Bluff, Illinois.  The championship is contested over 36-holes and two days and is open to any amateur golfer regardless of residency.  The Lake County Amateur provides all golfers with a wonderful opportunity to experience the Lake Bluff Golf Club under championship conditions and compete against the top amateurs in the area.

The field is divided into two divisions.  A Championship Division played scratch and a Handicap Division.  These two divisions allow all competitors to experience the thrill of championship golf.


FINAL RESULTS




Event
The Lake County Amateur is a 36-hole stroke play championship contested at the Lake Bluff Golf Club.  In case of a tie for the championship, a sudden death playoff will take place following the posting of the final score.  Playoff holes will be determined by the tournament committee.

Eligibility
The Lake County Amateur is open to all amateurs regardless of residency.

Entry Deadline
The entry deadline for the 2010 Lake County Amateur is Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 5:00 PM.  All entries must be received by the Pro Shop before this time.

Entry Fee
General Entry Fee: $150
LBGC Member Entry Fee: $90

Late entries will not be accepted under any conditions.  All entry fees are non-refundable after the entry deadline has passed with the exception of family emergencies, family death or medical emergencies.  All refund requests due to medical emergencies must be accompanied by documentation from a physician.

Practice Rounds
One practice round will be available to all participants at a discounted rate of $25.  This rate is valid anytime during the week or after 11:00 AM on weekends.  Please call the Pro Shop to schedule a practice round time.

Caddies
Contestants may bring their own caddies.

Starting Times & Groupings
Contestants shall be responsible for their starting times and groupings.  All starting times and grouping will be listed on www.lakebluffgolfclub.com.  Starting times will also be available by calling the Lake Bluff Golf Club after Thursday, July 29, 2010 after 12:00 PM.

Spike Policy
Metal and/or soil penetrating spikes will not be allowed at the Lake County Amateur.  Penalty for breach of this rule is disqualification.

Dress Code
Contestants may not wear blue jeans and may not wear collarless t-shirts or tank tops.  Contestants may wear tailored knee length shorts.  Caddies may wear either long pants or tailored knee length shorts.  Blue jeans, cutoffs, t-shirts or shirts with no collar shall not be worn.

Conduct
While on Lake Bluff Golf Club property during competitive rounds; players and caddies shall conduct themselves in a professional manner.  The tournament committee reserves the right to remove a player from the competition for; non-competitiveness; conduct unbecoming a professional by the player; conduct unbecoming a professional by the player's caddie.

Rules of Golf
Play shall be governed in accordance with the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association, as modified by the Local Rules governing play at the Lake Bluff Golf Club.  Questions or disputes shall be settled by the tournament committee.


Tournament Information

Lunch
Lunch is included in the entry fee and will be provided both Saturday and Sunday.

Tee Prize
A tee prize will be presented to each competitor upon check-in courtesy of the Lake Bluff Golf Club.

Starting Times
Pairings will be completed by the tournament committee for both Saturday and Sunday rounds.  Groups will be no larger than three (3) players.  Pairings Saturday will be completed with the consideration of competitors' requested starting times.  Pairings Sunday will be by score starting with the B-Flight, followed by the A-Flight and concluded with the Championship Flight.
