Lake Bluff Golf Club

Lake Bluff Golf Club was established in 1968 and over its 50-year history the course has become a “must-play” destination for golfers. Located on the scenic North Shore of Chicago, the golf course is one of only a few public facilities offering private-club caliber amenities.

We take pride in the conditioning and playability of the course with features such as a state-of-the art irrigation system that allows us to keep the bentgrass fairways and greens in pristine condition year-round. Our facility also includes an expansive practice facility with grass-tee driving range, practice putting green, and bunker/short-game area. We offer an amply stocked Pro Shop and the facility also houses a bar-and-grill, which serves delicious food and a wide selection of beverages.

The course measures 6,589 yards from the back tees with three additional sets of tees to accommodate the full gamut of golfers. The tree-lined fairways provide a beautiful yet challenging setting for our players, many of whom enjoy the fact it is an “easy to walk” golf course. Whether you opt to walk or ride, our average pace of play per round of 4 hours is a virtually unrivaled in the area.

Every year, Lake Bluff hosts the Lake County Amateur, a premier amateur golf tournament providing a wonderful opportunity for all golfers to experience competitive golf under championship conditions. We are also proud to be the home course for the 2010 and 2011 Illinois State Champion Lake Forest High School Boys golf team.

Lake Bluff Golf Club is located 45 minutes north of downtown Chicago and is only a five-minute walk west from the Lake Bluff Metra Train station located on the Union Pacific North Line. Club Policies

Reservations

All reservations are accepted either eight days in advance online, or seven days in advance by phone or in person. Tee time cancellations or reduction on players must be received 24 hours in advance of scheduled tee times to avoid $25 per player no-show fee for non-contracted groups.

Contracted Groups

A group of 12 or more must sign a contract (deposit required) and may book up to one year in advance. All deposits are due 30 days prior to date of event. Cancellations or reductions may be made 14 days in advance without penalty.

Rain Check Policy

During inclement weather conditions, cancellations will be accepted until the scheduled time of play. Rainy weather itself may not dictate the closing of the course. Rain checks will be issue for holes not completed due to inclement weather. A pro-rated rain check becomes a form of future payment and does not alter any future booking policies. Refunds will not be given, nor will rain checks be taken in payment for retail items or food and beverage. Rain checks for twilight fees are pro-rated for the first nine holes of play only.

Riding Carts

Only two persons and golf bags may be on a riding cart at any given time. Any person driving a riding cart must be 18 years of age or older. All riding carts must be returned to the clubhouse at sunset daily. The Lake Bluff Golf Club reserves the right to revoke riding cart rental privileges at any time.

Replay

Replays are based on availability only after completion of one 18-hole round on same day.

Golf Club Rentals

A set of golf clubs is required of each golfer. Rental clubs are available for both men and women. Rates are $25 per set per round.

Spectators

Spectators must register in the Pro Shop. Spectators under the age of five are prohibited. All spectators must pay a $10 fee per person. If an open seat is available in a riding cart, the spectator may ride along. No additional riding carts will be available for spectators.

Rules of Play

Appropriate golf attire shall be worn at all time while on the golf course or practice areas. Denim attire is permitted.

Play of more than four golfers per group will not be permitted. The Lake Bluff Golf Club reserves the right to fill incomplete foursomes at any time.

Personal carry-on coolers are prohibited. All refreshments must be purchased on property.
